Rosie O’Donnell breaks silence after her daughter’s arrest for drug possession

Rosie O’Donnell‘s daughter, Chelsea Belle O’DonnellHis arrest might surprise the media, but for the comedian it is just another experience in a long history of struggle.

Rosie took to social media to react to the news of her daughter’s arrest after police reportedly arrested her for child neglect and other serious charges related to the possession of harmful substances.

In addition to Chelsea, Rosie O’Donnell has four other childrennamely ParkerBlake, Vivienne and Dakota.

The celebrity uploaded a photo of Chelsea holding her baby as a way to remind herself and everyone else that things weren’t always so terrible, according to her caption, which read:

She admitted in the statement that the family is fully aware of Chelsea’s struggles with substance abuse over a decade. She concluded by adding: “We R all hopeful that she will find a way out of this deadly disease.”

The message was well received by fans and friends of the comedian, who sent their support and encouragement in the comments. “I send love and light. May she find her way out of the darkness,“ wrote this user, to which Rosie replied:

Another commenter added: “I have to ask what an eleven month old was doing in that situation? After reading the reports, no child should be in active drug addiction care.“ with Rosie replying: “I agree.“

Chelsea Bella O’Donnell reportedly called the police to her home last month

According to court documents, the 27-year-old was charged with four felonies, including maintaining a drug trafficking business, child neglect, possession of methamphetamine and possession of THC on September 17.

She was also charged with two misdemeanor counts of disorderly conduct/domestic violence and possession of illegally obtained prescription drugs.

The Marinette County Sheriff’s Office revealed that Chelsea called them on September 10, and dispatch heard people arguing and a woman telling someone to “get the hell away from her.”

When she arrived at her home, police found Chelsea in an intoxicated state with dilated pupils. When Chelsea was asked about the situation over the phone, she reportedly explained that she had a verbal disagreement with her boyfriend, Jacob Nelund, who was in the house with her son.

The officer on scene stated that he tried to ask her more questions, but she was not honest, adding, “This was a repeat of what happened a few weeks earlier when I was at her home for a similar incident.”

She was subsequently arrestedand the officer found a meth pipe with meth residue in her pocket, prompting him to look inside to check on the baby’s well-being, per In touch.

The officer’s search for Chelsea’s child led him to Jacob, who previously admitted to smoking a bowl after officers found him with a marijuana pipe and dilated pupils.

“His facial features were sunken and he was missing some teeth. His muscle tone was very stiff and it looked like he was flexing even though he wasn’t. I asked him what other medications he was taking today, and he said he was just but smokes marijuana,” the officer recalled.

However, Jacob’s story did not convince the officers on the scene, who compared his reaction and physical appearance to meth use.

Jacob also admitted to police that he got into a heated argument with Chelsea but locked himself in the bathroom when she tried to get physical and started banging on the door.

Chelsea’s baby was discovered Near drugs during arrest

Law enforcement officials revealed that they also found her 11-month-old child in the house full of meth pipes, feces and trash, prompting them to arrest her for child neglect.

“The inside of the house was disgusting; throughout the house I saw spoiled food, dirty, moldy dishes, milk that smelled so bad it almost made me puke, dirty diapers, used feminine hygiene products, unclean underwear with feces and blood stains , and used razor blades on the floor,” the statement said.

The officer continued that after a fruitless search in the bathroom, they went to the child’s room and found a blue box on the bedside table, which contained several hypodermic needles, including used ones with dried blood in them.

“Under a baby’s bed I found a black and silver digital scale, some used gemstone bags with white residue and a sharps container that had more used and unused hypodermic needles. In a pile of clothes I found a straw had been cut off and burned,” the officer continued.

Child Protective Services was then invited to the scene and agreed to allow one of Jacob’s friends to take the child.

The comedian’s daughter was eventually released after the former was arrested, but quickly found herself in trouble a few weeks later when police stopped her during a drive.

The officer on scene stated that Chelsea was unable to maintain eye contact and when asked where she was going, she became incoherent with her response. Before adding that Chelsea threw a meth pipe at a river after being asked, the officer wrote:

Her attempt to throw away the evidence failed when the pipe hit a fence and bounced back. After searching the vehicle, the officer found three used needles in the center console.

She was then arrested and transported to custody, but staff would not take her until she was medically cleared. Several pills, including Oxycodone, Morphine Sulfate pills and Hydrocodone, were discovered in her bra at the hospital where the medical clearance took place.

A hearing has been scheduled for next month for the daughter of Rosie O’Donnell, Chelsea’s double drug-related arrest.
