Steve Martin seemingly confirms Martin Short and Meryl Streep’s romance?

Steve Martin has seemingly confirmed the romance between Martin Short and Meryl Streep with a cheeky social media post.

On October 19, the Father of the bride actor recently reshared a photo from Glamor magazine with Martin and Meryl on Instagram.

However, he crossed out his face with a red circle in his reposted photo.

Fans jumped to the conclusion that Steve was hinting at Martin and Meryl’s relationship with one user writing: “Did he just hit the relationship hard.”

Another said: “Are you confirming this relationship?!”

‘I take this as confirmation. I’ve never been so invested in celebrity rumors, a third user commented.

A fourth user added: “While Meryl and Martin claim they are just friends, Steve condemns them.”

“I don’t know why the thought of Meryl and Martin makes me so happy, but honestly it fills my heart with joy,” said a fifth user.

In January 2023, Meryl reportedly joined the cast of Only murders in the building and appeared in both the third and fourth seasons of the Hulu show.

Martin later talked about the casting of Meryl in the series PEOPLE“The story with Meryl is she called me and said, ‘I want to be there.’

“They had already planned for me to have a theatrical experience and for there to be a love interest,” he said.

Martin added, “So that was a coincidence, but she just wanted to be on the show. She knew nothing about the love story.”
