Child dies after being pulled from pool in West Phoenix

A 3-year-old child died after being pulled from a swimming pool Friday evening, according to Phoenix police.

According to police, officers arrived at the pool near 83rd Ave around 7:15 p.m. and Lower Buckeye Road. The child was rushed to a hospital but later died, police said.

It is unclear how long the child was underwater before being found. There is no confirmation yet whether the pool was fenced.

Police say the incident is still under investigation.
