Shraddha Kapoor Breaks Silence on ‘Stree 2”s Hit Credit War, Excitedly Confirms ‘Stree 3’

Shraddha Kapoor has finally addressed the debate surrounding the success of Street 2a sequel to the 2018 blockbuster *Stree*.
With the film exceeding expectations and grossing over Rs 856 crore worldwide, a public debate has emerged over who deserves the credit Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao or others associated with the project.
At the Indian Express event, Shraddha Kapoor settled the debate by highlighting the collaborative nature of filmmaking.
Shraddha Kapoor recalled the impact Stree had on her when she first heard the script. “I had never come across a story like that before it was purely entertainment. I was laughing, excited and loved playing the mysterious character,” she said.
Reflecting on the success of the first film, Shraddha Kapoor added, “That’s where it all started. Hats off to the director, writer and producer for staying true to the essence of the sequel.”
The actor acknowledged that creating a successful sequel requires substance, and not just the desire to cash in on a hit. “With Stree 2, we delivered entertainment, dialogue and performances. Ultimately, it is the audience who decides the fate of the film, and we are grateful for the love they showed.”
Shraddha Kapoor also hinted at future developments in the franchise. She revealed that director Amar Kaushik already has a storyline for it Street 3.
“When Amar told sir that he had a story for the third part, I got very excited. I can’t wait to see where it goes.”
Shraddha Kapoor focused on the film’s success in a male-dominated industry and emphasized the importance of quality over star power. She concluded by saying: “A good film always works. This should motivate us all to take nothing for granted and continue making meaningful cinema.”
