Cheryl Cole revealed that Liam Payne was the “only man who never cheated on her” and protected him even after they broke up.

After Cheryl’s divorce from ex-husband Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini, the singers became a couple in 2016. The following year, the duo welcomed their first child, Bear, who is now seven. But less than a year later, Liam and Cheryl announced they had split, but remained amicable and only spoke positively about each other for the sake of their son.

During a 2018 interview, Cheryl stated that the former One Direction singer was the only partner who had not cheated on her.

Referring to her previous relationships, including ex-husband Ashley Cole, Cheryl told The Sunday Times’ Style magazine that Liam Payne is “the only man who has ever been faithful”.

Cheryl Cole seemed nonchalant as she spoke about her split from Liam, saying she had found the “man of her dreams” – their son Bear.

‘I’m not looking for anything anymore. I am whole. I have the man of my dreams,” said Cheryl.

The singer became a father for the first time at the age of 23 and publicly opened up about his struggles with fatherhood.

Speculation arose following the couple’s split, with many people believing Liam had been unfaithful. However, they dismissed the rumours, with Liam bravely admitting he found becoming a young father challenging.

Speaking about the documentary Ant Middleton and Liam Payne: Straight Talking in 2019, he said becoming a father at such a young age was “difficult”, and he began to rethink his responsibilities.

“And I think I built fatherhood up so much in my mind that it confused me a little bit at first. I started it in a bad place,” he continued.

Liam added: “I think it freaked me out early on, and I was just worried that I wouldn’t be enough to take care of both of them.”

After Bear’s birth, Girls Aloud Star Cheryl suffered a serious haemorrhage, causing her to take a step back from the spotlight to focus on her son. Despite calling her the best mother in the world, Liam admitted he didn’t understand what Cheryl was going through.

Speaking to the Daily Mail in 2019, the Girls Aloud singer spoke about the success of co-parenting with Liam and how she couldn’t be happier about the impact it had on Bear.

“There is no animosity whatsoever. We learn all the time. And it’s good, it’s healthy. We are just like any other couple who has gone through this, but we still have a pair of eyes watching us…just a pair,” said Cheryl.

At the time of reporting, Cheryl, 41, had not commented on the death of her ex-partner Liam Payne, 31.
