Kirinyaga woman demands KSh500 refund from activist Morara Kebaso

A woman from Kirinyaga County has asked Morara Kebaso to refund the KSh500 she allegedly sent to him when he called on Kenyans to support his initiatives.

Kebaso is a trained lawyer and a well-known activist who has made headlines in recent months for his views on several development projects in Kenya.

Speak with TUKO.co.keJoan confirmed that the activist had not responded to her text or tweet and had yet to pay her back.

“He has not contacted me yet and I am yet to receive my refund for the KSh500,” she noted.

She noted that the issue was not about the money, but about the loss of confidence in him as a potential future leader.

“It’s not the money that hurts, it’s the trust I invested in him as a future leader that hurts the most. The pain of such betrayal never heals,” she said.

“Good morning, Morara Kebaso. Not long ago you offered to pay back anyone who thought you weren’t being honest. “I have written to you asking for my 500 shillings back because I no longer believe in you and I actually feel cheated,” she wrote.

Joan revealed that she texted the activist asking for a refund, but he did not respond.

However, she acknowledged his busy schedule and urged him to send her the money when he had time. She also claimed that the lawyer was raising money for his own agenda.

“You never refunded my 500 or even responded to my text. I understand you are busy opposing every change pushed by anyone other than you and raising money for your own agenda, but if you have time please send my 500 back,” she added.

The lady also shared a screenshot of her earlier text message with the activist when she asked for a refund.

“Good morning. I hope this finds you well and politically and morally acceptable. My name is Joan and I am from Kirinyaga County, Kabare Ward. I know you are busy so I will keep this short.

Morara, on September 3, 2024, at 3:30 am, I woke up and sent you 500 of my little hard-earned money. The purpose was to help you with civic education,” the text message reads in part.

Joan further accused the activist of shifting his initiatives to his personal political interest.

“However, it turned out to be in your personal political interest. And what’s worse, I hear you saying that anyone who doesn’t like it should ask for a refund. I hereby request mine,” she asked while attaching the Mpesa confirmation message and her phone number.

Morara Kebaso calls for help with the purchase of computers and printers

In a separate report from TUKO.co.ke Kebaso asked Kenyans for financial support to acquire crucial equipment for his political movement, the Inject Party of Kenya.

He said the purchase of three computers and two large printers would support his activism and the volunteer advocates of his legal team.

According to the lawyer, activism requires significant financial resources, which explains why he regularly asks for donations.
