Olimpia Milano, the new “sports life” of Pippo Ricci

Ricciè has always been one of those players who puts himself completely at the service of the team. In his fourth year in Milan, the former Virtus Bologna always adapted to Coach Messina’s basketball credo. Even when he didn’t play much, he continued to give 100 percent, which turned out to be a valuable element.

In this first part of the season he is much more involved than in the past. Complicit in Nebo’s injury, the blue one (since this year co-captain of EA7 together with Shields) gets more minutes on the field and, more importantly, a different role. Against Brescia he always played as a small forward.

Coach Messina seems intent on fielding a very large (and physical) quintet in some matches. To best do this, he uses Ricci as a number 3. His rebounding skills, unique to a major perimeter threat, make Ricci ideal for this technical choice.

For his part, the 33-year-old Ricci, an idol at Forum, continues to do what he has always done: give everything on the field to help his team win. Exactly as it happened against Brescia, where he distinguished himself with a few key moments to bring home the sprint victory. At the age of 33, Ricci was ready to do anything for the good of Olimpia.
