No cases can be filed against participants in the mass uprising: Ministry

The Ministry of Interior has issued a directive stating that no cases or complaints of harassment should be filed against students and the public who participated in the mass uprising in July and August.

This is evident from a message sent by the ministry on Monday.

The statement said the mass uprising by students and public on August 5 marked a new beginning towards building a discrimination-free Bangladesh through the fall of the authoritarian fascist government. To ensure the success of this uprising, it has been decided that there will be no cases, arrests or intimidation against the students and the public who actively supported the movement from July 15 to August 8 in connection with the events of the July Uprising.

Involved parties have been instructed to remain vigilant in this matter. They have also been warned against providing false information to gain any advantage.
