Student from Jabalpur killed by friend over sister’s safety | Bhopal News

Jabalpur: The student, whose body was found in a pond in Jabalpur, was murdered by a friend, who suspected him of having improper intentions towards his sister, police said.
Victim Arun Kumar Lodhi20, was a second year BA student from Padariya village in Katangi area. He was reported missing by his family on October 1. The police registered a case and started looking for him.
On the morning of October 9, police received information about a foul odor coming from a pond outside the village. They found Arun’s body floating in the pond. Preliminary autopsy revealed a fatal blow to the head with a sharp weapon.
It didn’t take long for police to spot the suspect. Anand Thakur. Police said Arun had gone out with friends Anand and Raghvendra at 8 p.m. After playing video games for a while, Raghvendra went home. So did Arun and Anand.
But soon after, Anand asked Arun to meet him at the pond, police say. Here he attacked Arun with a screwdriver and killed him on the spot. During interrogation, Anand admitted that he killed his friend because he felt Arun had bad intentions towards his sister, police said. Anand is in custody.
