1 dead, 4 injured in shooting Saturday morning: I-Team

EAST CLEVELAND (WJW) – East Cleveland Police Chief Ken Lundy confirms to Fox 8 News that five people were shot early Saturday morning and three people were taken in for questioning.

Couple accused of plotting $147,000 armed robbery at Euclid Marc

Lundy told the Fox 8 I-Team that one person died at the scene and four other victims were taken to a hospital after being shot around 5 a.m. near Euclid Avenue and Taylor Road. Lundy did not know the circumstances of the other four.

Crime scene investigators were still on the scene hours after the shooting. Evidence markers were seen on the sidewalk and police tape blocked off part of the street and sidewalk.

“Obviously at these types of gatherings the chance of something bad happening is quite high, especially at 5 a.m. it’s a problem,” Lundy said. “Nothing good will happen at that time in the morning.”

The three people taken in for questioning have not been charged, Lundy told the I-Team.

The police continue the investigation.
