Former Delhi University professor GN Sai Baba dies | India News

HYDERABAD: Former professor at Delhi University GN Sai Baba died on Saturday due to ill health Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) hospital.
Sai Baba was earlier accused by the Maharashtra Police of having links with the Maharashtra Police CPI-Maoist. After serving seven years in prison, he was acquitted by Bombay High Court in March 2024.
Sai Baba was admitted to NIMS hospital last month and underwent surgery for a gall bladder condition. However, after the operation he suffered complications that led to his death. Hospital doctors declared him dead at 8:36 pm on Saturday. In August, Sai Baba spoke to the media at the Meet the Press event and recalled the extreme difficulties he faced during his prison time. He was kept in Anda Cell (solitary confinement) in a jail in Maharashtra.
