Rosetown/Kyle RCMP report for October 4-10, 2024

Rosetown and Kyle RCMP responded to several calls throughout the week, including traffic complaints, repairs to a railway crossing and investigations into harassment, mischief and suspicious persons. Officers dealt with incidents including a collision with deer on Highway 7, a burglary at a Rosetown business and a two-vehicle collision on Highway 44. A fire near Zealandia was confirmed to be a controlled burn.

  • October 4, 2024, 9:07 am: Kyle RCMP received a traffic complaint on Highway 7. Members patrolled the area but were unable to locate the vehicle in question.
  • October 4, 2024, 9:35 am: An abandoned vehicle has been reported in Kyle, Saskatchewan.
  • October 5, 2024, 5:53 PM: Rosetown RCMP responded to damage to a railway crossing near Rosetown. Officers remained on scene until CN Rail arrived to make repairs.
  • October 6, 2024, 12:37 PM: Kyle RCMP received a report of an erratic driver on Highway 7, but there was insufficient evidence to proceed.
  • October 7, 2024, 9:42 am: Rosetown RCMP have dealt with a complaint of harassing communications. After consultation with both parties, no further action was necessary.
  • October 7, 2024, 2:20 PM: Kyle RCMP received a call about a suspicious person on Highway 4 near Kyle. The man appeared to be hitchhiking and no further action needed to be taken.
  • October 7, 2024, 2:41 PM: Rosetown RCMP responded to a request for a welfare check in Rosetown.
  • October 8, 2024, 10:53 am: A report has been received of a fire near Zeelandia. Members confirmed it was a controlled burn and no further action was required.
  • October 8, 2024, 1:15 PM: Rosetown RCMP began investigating a complaint of harassing communications in Kyle.
  • October 8, 2024, 7:42 PM: A motor vehicle collision involving a deer was reported on Highway 7. No injuries were reported and the incident was filed for insurance purposes.
  • October 9, 2024, 9:31 am: A dog complaint in Wiseton is being investigated by Rosetown RCMP.
  • October 9, 2024, 10:22 am: Rosetown RCMP are investigating a complaint of mischief in Lucky Lake.
  • October 9, 2024, 6:00 PM: A report was received of an erratic driver on Highway 7. Members located the vehicle and issued a verbal warning to the driver.
  • October 10, 2024, 2:43 am: A burglary at a Rosetown business is being investigated by Rosetown RCMP.
  • October 10, 2024, 9:31 am: Kyle RCMP responded to a two-vehicle collision on Highway 44. Minor injuries were reported.
  • October 10, 2024, 10:23 am: A report of a suspicious person was received in Rosetown, but officers were unable to locate the person.

In total, the RCMP laid 57 traffic-related charges, responded to four wrong numbers and handled three false 911 calls over the course of the week.
