KU teacher leaves after outrage over ‘Shoot ’em’ comment

Friday’s finale of a culture war story that sparked culture war outrage and a low-ranking academic’s career ending.

Don’t get it twisted. . . TKC agrees with our conservative friends that the comment was inappropriate and that the prof probably made the right decision.

What’s even worse is that students actually go into debt writing notes on that kind of crap. . . And maybe even worse than that. . . So many progressive pundits wasted their time defending the guy or downplaying the implications of his inflammatory comments.

And so. . . Here is the aftermath of the endgame and a reminder of it SOMEONE is always recording. . .

Barbara Bichelmeyer, KU’s provost and vice chancellor, announced in a statement Friday that the teacher, Phillip Lowcock, was “leaving the university.” The announcement came two days after a conservative pundit posted a video on the social media platform X, formerly Twitter, of Lowcock addressing a classroom of students and making what the university called an “inappropriate reference to violence.”
