Wayne County EMA confirms fire at Rayonier paper mill in Jesup

JESUP, Ga. (WTOC) – Wayne County EMA Director Donnie Ray has confirmed crews are currently battling a fire at the Rayonier Paper Mill in Jesup, Georgia.

WTOC spoke with Wayne County Sheriff Chuck Moseley and he said Wayne County EMA Director Donnie Ray confirmed that a digester (main equipment for making chemical paper pulp) caught fire.

The sheriff said crews are working to get the fire under control and no injuries were reported.

Fire units from Hinesville and Brunswick are on scene.
