Massaman sentenced to life in prison for fatal 2022 shooting in Lowell

A man convicted of fatally shooting a Lowell man has been sentenced to life in prison, Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan’s office announced Friday.

Rafael Garcia-Rey, 23, was sentenced to life in prison for the 2022 murder of Odugwu Ganobi, 26, in Lowell, Ryan’s office said in a statement.

He will also serve four to five years in state prison on a charge of carrying a firearm without a license and two and a half years in the House of Correction on a charge of carrying a loaded firearm to be served on and after the charge of carrying a firearm without a permit.
