Serious injuries reported after a crash in the Surfside Beach area involving a pedestrian

SURFSIDE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – Serious injuries were reported Thursday following a crash in Horry County involving a pedestrian.

Horry County Fire Rescue said crews were called to the area of Dick Pond Road and Gibson Avenue in Surfside Beach just after 10:20 a.m.

As of approximately 11 a.m., HCFR said lanes are blocked and motorists are asked to avoid the area.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating.

Officers from the Horry County Police Department also responded to the scene.
