As an NBA star Anthony Edwards is making headlines for one paternity case, another legal battle in which the athlete accused a former partner of harassment in a separate paternity battle has surfaced.

The Minnesota Timberwolves player, 23, said ex-partner Daja Carlyle involved in “unsolicited harassing communications” in a legal battle over their daughter Aris, who was born in 2023, according to documents filed in April and obtained by We weekly. In touch was the first to break the news.

Edwards’ attorney accused Carlyle in a motion of sending text messages to “individuals associated” with the basketball star. The texts allegedly contained ‘threats’ about what she would do if Edwards and his team ‘didn’t meet her demands’.

“There is no rhyme or reason for (Carlyle) to contact individuals who work for (Anthony),” the motion reads. “They don’t work for her, they don’t answer her, and they aren’t there for her to communicate with, and they don’t want to talk to her. They are also not involved in this procedure.”

Roy Rochlin/Getty Images for Fanatics Anthony Edwards is raising eyebrows with his recent paternity drama with influencer Ayesha Howard. According to court documents obtained by Us Weekly, the 23-year-old Minnesota Timberwolves star filed a new motion in his paternity lawsuit against Howard on October 15. The first lawsuit was filed in September. The documents state (…)

The motion, filed 10 days before the Timberwolves’ start to the NBA playoffs, states that Carlyle’s conduct caused “unnecessary conflict and stress” for Edwards.

“This attempt to sabotage the Father’s personal and professional relationships must end,” the motion said.

In response, Carlyle denied engaging in harassing behavior.

We weekly has reached out to both Edwards and Carlyle but has not heard back at time of publication.

The motion was filed in connection with a paternity lawsuit Edwards filed in February that sought to name him as Aris’ biological father. In documents we obtained, Edwards asked that assigned joint legal and physical custody of the daughter.

In a response filed in March, Carlyle sought child support from Edwards and demanded primary physical custody, agreeing to Edwards’ request for joint legal custody.

Edwards and Carlyle agreed to a child support payment plan in April, with Edwards agreeing to pay $5,000 per month. However, in a motion filed in September, Edwards argued that Carlyle was seeking an unnecessary increase in aid.

“(Carlyle) claims to earn approximately $8,000.00 annually, even though that is virtually impossible,” the motion states. “In any case, the Mother is voluntarily unemployed or underemployed. She runs a company, MyPrettiBody, in her name, for which she manages a bank account that receives and transfers several thousand dollars every month.”

Edwards’ lawyer added: ‘What is also clear is that the mother is trying to use child support as a means to ensure she doesn’t have to work. The mother is voluntarily unemployed or underemployed and claims to earn less than the minimum wage. She has no disability. And she refuses to provide bank statements showing how she spends her money on the child.”

Carlyle and Edwards reached a confidential settlement on September 12 regarding paternity, custody and child support payments.

Edwards is currently in the middle of a separate paternity case involving a named woman Ayesha Howard.

Earlier this month, Edwards filed a motion requesting DNA testing of a girl born to Howard on Oct. 14.

In the paperwork — which was filed on Oct. 15, the day after Howard gave birth — Edwards requested DNA testing by a “neutral and certified laboratory” to determine if he is the father.
