MANILA, Philippines — Heavy rains are expected in some parts of Luzon on Thursday morning as severe Tropical Storm Kristine continues to batter much of the country, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.

In an 8 a.m. bulletin, Pagasa said a red rain warning has been issued in Occidental Mindoro, where severe flooding in low-lying areas and landslides in mountainous areas may occur. A red rain warning also means more than 30 millimeters (mm) of rain will fall over the next two hours.
