Kansas City police arrest man on felony warrant after standoff

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – A 911 call from a relative of a man who had threatened himself led Kansas City police to a standoff with a man with an outstanding felony warrant.

The Kansas City Missouri Police Department said officers were dispatched to the 2300 block of Kensington Avenue for a medical call Tuesday night.

Before police arrived, they determined the man inside the residence had a felony warrant.

When officers arrived to the area, they made contact with the man who they said was very agitated and refused to leave the home. After verbal commands to the man to leave the house failed, a standoff was called with additional resources and trained negotiators.

At 10:55 p.m., KCPD said the man left the home and was taken into custody.

This is a developing story. KCTV will update you as more information becomes available.
