Crews respond to wildfire in Huntington

HUNTINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – Dry conditions led to a wildfire in Huntington on Wednesday.

Huntington Fire Chief Tate Jeffrey says the fire is now under control, but they have a major cleanup ahead of them

He says it started with a small grass fire that spread into the forest. “Today the fire alert was very high and Forest and Parks advised no open burning today. The low humidity was just a recipe for something like this. So pay attention to your fire warnings,” Jeffrey said.

No injuries have been reported.
