Donald Trump is a bully and a threat to the security of our country

Most of us were raised to follow the golden rule: “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” Perhaps Donald Trump was not raised this way, as evidenced by his constant lies and bullying. He has told people that repeating the same lie will make people believe those lies.

The latest lies he continues to repeat about immigrants and the government’s response to the hurricane victims endanger the well-being of the people. His rhetoric has already caused non-white American citizens here in North Canton to be threatened and told to “go back to the country where you belong.”

One of the biggest challenges we face in our schools is bullying. Trump sets an extremely bad example for our youth as he openly bullies people and threatens those who disagree with him.

Trump also cares more about himself than our country, as illustrated when he convinced his followers in Congress to vote no on the border bill because he wanted immigration to remain a major issue in this election.

Trump violated his oath of office on January 6, 2021. Most of his former aides and security advisers will not support Trump; many have endorsed Harris. Having witnessed Trump’s chaotic and unethical behavior firsthand, they know he is a threat to our country’s security. This speaks volumes.

Please follow the lead of Liz Cheney and many other key Republicans who are voting for Kamala Harris. This, plus Harris’ commitment to putting a Republican in her Cabinet, will help unite our nation.

In our races for the US Senate and House of Representatives, Bernie Moreno and Kevin Coughlin are following Trump’s lead with all their lies. Senator Sherrod Brown and U.S. Representative Emilia Sykes are listening to us and working with both Democrats and Republicans to get things done.
