And looking back at these well-known companies, Halder says he has learned a lot about the unique cultures found in organizations.

“Each industry works in a very different environment, (with a) different set of customers, and we are all humans at the end of the day, consuming these products or these goods or services. But how we get the product to them, and how we strategize to reach them, and… how the culture of each organization is different in that, let’s say, a value chain, is something quite unique.”

Those ideas helped Halder build a solid foundation for working in a global world, he says, especially when it comes to human capital and what it takes to be successful.

“Now I know GSK would look at its employees through this lens and why, versus Chevron through this lens and why, but when you’re there, it’s hard to see why. When you go out and put all of this side by side, it’s a great learning journey. So, I’m very privileged to have had that.”

Almost four years ago, Halder signed with BASFwhere he has moved from Senior Total Rewards Specialist to Chief People Officer, effective June 2024.
