Kansas State’s Jerome Tang has learned a lot about the team after two games

The Kansas State Wildcats are 2-0 after defeating New Orleans (89-65) and Cleveland State (77-64) the first week of the season.

Coach Jerome Tang spoke to the media ahead of his team’s matchup against LSU this Thursday at 9 pm. The Tigers, led by coach Matt McMahon, are also 2-0.

So what has Tang learned so far?

“Oh, man, what a great question,” Tang said. “You know, we have some guys that can make shots, and even when you know we don’t play as well as we want, man. I have this friend, Tim Maloney, and we were in staff meetings, and we would have all these plans, how we should protect this , how we should do that, what we should do. And he would be silent throughout the meeting. Then, at the end of the meeting, he would get up and, Come on, I hope we make shots. That’s all. . And he was leaving the meeting. And that’s what it comes down to, man, you have to make shots too. But if you hit it, it solves a lot of problems.”

K-State’s field goal percentage is 50.8 percent and it makes 43.4 percent from 3-point range.

To beat LSU, the Wildcats’ shooting numbers will have to continue. Otherwise, Coach Tang’s team could suffer its first loss of the season.
