Suspected hare hunters used catapults and rammed a farmer’s vehicle in a “scary” incident.

Wiltshire Police are investigating the incident which occurred at a farm in Wilsford, near Pewsey, at around 00:20 GMT on Sunday.

Six vehicles are believed to have been involved and the suspects surrounded the victims, police said.

A police spokesperson said the force was aware of a video circulating on social media and asked people not to share it.

Police said the suspected hare steeds shot out the windows of their vehicles using catapults and rammed a farmer’s vehicle several times.

Two of the vehicles involved are believed to be a silver BMW X5 and a Toyota Rav 4.

Inspector Andy Lemon, of Wiltshire Rural Crime Team, said: “This was a terrifying incident for both victims and we are treating it very seriously.”

He appealed for witnesses or those with images of several 4×4 vehicles traveling through Amesbury, Wilsford and Woodford to get in touch.
