The warm, dry forecast continues

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) – The number of dry days without measurable rainfall at Montgomery Regional Airport is now 18 and counting. This trend will continue for the foreseeable future as a persistent ridge of high pressure hovers over the Southeast, keeping us dry for several more days.

Outside this morning, temperatures are in the low 50s under beautiful skies and light winds. Today there will be plenty of sunshine and with a northwest wind we will warm into the mid 80s. Overnight lows will remain in the 50s with clear and calm conditions.

Although we really need the rain, the dry weather makes for fun outdoor plans. Afternoon high temperatures will continue to rise slightly each day this week, reaching the mid to upper 80s by the end of the week, while morning temperatures will hover around 50 degrees overnight and early morning.

The weather forecast remains dry this weekend, even as a weak front moves through the region. Although there will be no rain in the area, temperatures will cool slightly by Sunday into early next week.

Expect highs in the mid to upper 80s on Saturday with sunny conditions, giving way to upper 70s and lower 80s by Sunday, which is more typical for this time of year. By the end of the weekend, overnight lows will also slowly drop back into the lower 50s.

The tropes follow: both Nadine and Oscar are goneā€¦. and there are no other systems we are monitoring for the next seven days. Although there is a computer model signal for the possibility of development in the Caribbean Sea by November 1. We’ll be watching until the Atlantic hurricane season ends on November 30.
