EPL: Arteta confirms injury for Arsenal vs Liverpool

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta says Riccardo Calafiori picked up a problem during Tuesday night’s 1-0 win over Shakhtar Donetsk.

Calafiori appeared to suffer a knee injury in the second half and was unable to continue.

The Italian defender was replaced by Myles Lewis-Skelly for the remainder of the match.

After the match, Arteta also revealed that Bukayo Saka is not back in training.

He said: “(Bukayo) Saka isn’t training yet so he won’t be available and Ricci (Calafiori) felt something and couldn’t stay. A bit worrying.”

Arsenal’s next match is a crucial Premier League match against Liverpool at home.
