Adam Cole Confirms Relationship Status With Dr. Britt Baker

The relationship between Adam Cole and Dr. Britt Baker has been the subject of online rumors and speculation in recent months. Speaking to The Takedown on SI – most of which will be released Wednesday morning – Cole said he appreciated the opportunity to address the elephant that accompanied him on his return to AEW.

He and Britt have indeed broken up.

“We’re no longer a couple,” Cole admitted. “But when I say that we both still love each other and are still friends and still support each other so much, that couldn’t be more true.”

Cole and Baker had become AEW’s power couple after Adam joined the company in the fall of 2021. They were both central figures in it AEW: All access – the backstage reality series that aired mainly on TBS last April – and duel winners of the first Owen Hart Foundational Tournaments.

What happened between the two of them is no one’s business but their own. Sometimes relationships just don’t work out, even after spending more than seven years with someone. Even though those two people still care deeply about each other.

“I think the world is Britt’s,” Cole said. “I want her to be as happy and successful as humanly possible, and I know she feels the exact same way about me. We’ve decided to go our separate ways, but that doesn’t mean she won’t be an incredibly important part of my life Britt is definitely one of my best friends. She is someone I love very much and will always love very much, and there is no ill will between me and her.”

While rehabbing his surgically repaired ankle this summer, Cole told his loyal streaming followers that he was in the process of moving back to his home state of Pennsylvania. That announcement sent the online rumor mill, and the sheer amount of vitriol that usually follows, into overdrive.

Being constantly in the public eye means facing varying levels of scrutiny and judgment, especially in today’s social media climate. It’s a part of the gig that Adam Cole accepted years ago, and has used under certain circumstances to better himself as an artist.

Reading the online discourse about himself and Britt recently is something that Cole admits was heartbreaking to watch unfold.

‘I don’t want anyone to ever think that Britt and I hate each other. I think it’s possible in situations where people who are in relationships kind of go their separate ways but still care about each other. The last thing I would want is for fans to take sides or something like that.”

Our full interview with Adam Cole will appear tomorrow (10/23) on The Takedown on the SI YouTube channel.
