Strictly come dance has introduced its first celebrity contestant for the 2024 Christmas special.

Josh is one of six celebrities competing for this year’s Christmas Glitter Ball trophy.

Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, Anton Du Beke and chief judge Shirley Ballas They will all return for the festive special, critiquing and rating the celebrity routines on offer.

The winner will be decided by the studio audience, who will vote for their favorite during the pre-recorded show.

The festive special usually airs on the evening of Christmas Day on BBC One, although the exact date and time is yet to be confirmed by the broadcaster.

“Expect festive cheer, jingle bells, mistletoe madness, dazzling decorations and six celebrities sleighing to Elstree in a bid to be crowned Strictly Christmas Champion 2024,” the show’s official synopsis teases.

Last year’s show saw EastEnders star Jamie Borthwick and her professional partner Nancy Xu win the 2023 special with a perfect score of 40 out of 40.

She fought off competition from other famous Christmas competitors, historian Dan Snow and professional Nadiya Bychkova, rugby star Danny Cipriani and professional Jowita Przystał, Sugababes’ Keisha Buchanan and professional Gorka Márquez, BBC Breakfast newsreader Sally Nugent and the professional Graziano Di Prima, in addition to Waterloo HighwayIt’s Tillie Amartey and professional Neil Jones.

Borthwick is currently appearing on the 2024 series of Strictly Come Dancing in partnership with new professional dancer Michelle Tsiakkas.

Strictly Come Dancing airs on Saturdays on BBC One, while spin-off Strictly: It Takes Two airs weekdays on BBC Two. Both shows are available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
