BBC News – News broadcast, prisoners released early (again)

Moreover, Newscast is going to America!

Today we look at releasing more prisoners to help reduce prison overcrowding.

The government is releasing another 1,100 prisoners early in the second wave of emergency releases since September. It comes as the Justice Minister announced a sentencing review, with an emphasis on new forms of punishment outside prison, including a form of house arrest. Adam is joined by domestic and legal correspondent Dominic Casciani, and former Director of Public Prosecutions Lord Ken Macdonald.

Adam also speaks with Marianna Spring about the last two weeks of the American presidential elections. And reveals how Newscast will cover the election, including the return of Remoter Voter.
