Teenager dies after being hit by a train in Beebe

BEEBE, Ark. – Police in Beebe have confirmed that a 15-year-old boy died after being hit by a train on Thursday morning.

According to the Beebe Police Department, city officers and Beebe School District police were notified of an accident on the tracks near Railroad Street around 9:35 a.m.

Harding University is mourning the life of a student who died in an accident

After arriving on scene, officers said they found the teen, who was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel.

Officials have not identified the child or released additional details about the crash.

Beebe School District officials released the following statement:

“It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of the passing of a freshman at Beebe High School. He was a beloved member of our Beebe School District family, and his loss has profound implications for our entire community.

The student’s family has been notified and Union Pacific Railroad Police are currently leading the investigation into the circumstances surrounding this tragedy.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends during this incredibly difficult time. We extend our sincere condolences and support to all who are grieving.

In times of loss it is important to come together. Guidance will be available for students and parents who need support. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you or your child would like to speak to someone.

We encourage everyone to support each other during this difficult time.”
