Kansas City Chiefs are back on the running machine a month after breaking his leg

Kansas City Chiefs running back Isiah Pacheco was all smiles as he filmed himself on a treadmill Monday, walking normally a month after breaking his fibula in a game.

Pacheco suffered the long-term injury on September 15 and is expected to be out for eight weeks.

The running back has missed four Chiefs games during his time out due to injury, with no timetable made public for when the team expects him to return.

Without him, the Chiefs haven’t lost a game. However, Kansas City head coach Andy Reid is eager to get Pacheco back as his team is undoubtedly better with him in the starting lineup.

Pacheco’s smile is seen in the middle of a gym, which resembles the Chiefs’ practice facility, with the Red Hot Chili Peppers’ “Can’t Stop” playing in the background. How fitting.

Pacheco had 135 yards and a touchdown before getting hurt against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Last season, Pacheco came into his own late in the season and finished the year with 935 yards and seven rushing touchdowns.

In his absence, Kareem Hunt and Samaje Perine have taken over the Chiefs’ backfield duties.

The Chiefs next play the Las Vegas Raiders, who are 2-5, on Sunday. The Raiders were the last team to beat Kansas City last December.

Kansas City has a longer week heading into November with a Monday night game against the Buccaneers in Week 9.

In one of those games, Pacheco could return to the Chiefs’ active roster.
