NOS said the controversial celebrity is a person of interest in an ongoing investigation.

The agency announced this in a statement on Monday, October 21, 2024, hours after the transvestite was arrested at the border with Sème.

The statement signed by signed by the Service Public Relations Officer, Kenneth Udostated that Bobrisky was trying to leave the country when he was arrested.

The statement read, “In line with its promise to secure the borders, the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) intercepted Okuneye Idris Olanrewaju, also known as Bobrisky, at the Seme border for attempting to leave the country.

“The agency wishes to inform the public that OKUNEYE IDRIS is a person of interest in recent issues of public interest. He is being questioned and will be handed over to the relevant authorities for further action.

“The agency assures the public that it will continue to act civilly and professionally in its legal responsibility for manning the nation’s borders.”

Trouble started for Bobrisky when he was arrested in April and sentenced to six months in jail for naira misuse.

After serving his time, reports emerged that the celebrity had spent just three weeks in Kirikiri Prison and spent the rest of his time in a private facility near the prison.

Bobrisky’s ordeal was further compounded when Martin Otse, a social media influencer commonly known as VeryDarkMan, released a leaked audio clip in which Bobrisky allegedly said he was spending his time in a private apartment.

In leaked audio, Bobrisky claimed that he bribed officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Nigeria Correctional Service with N15m to withdraw the money laundering charges against him and secure his transfer from prison to the private apartment to set.
