Registered sex offender in Rockford accused of having child pornography on cellphones

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) – A 28-year-old man is facing charges after police allegedly found child pornography on his cell phone.

Daniel Paz of Rockford is charged with possession of child pornography.

On Oct. 9, Rockford police said they assisted Illinois Department of Corrections probation officers with a compliance check in the 2100 block of 19th Avenue.

Investigators say a cell phone containing suspected images of child pornography was found in Paz’s bedroom.

Paz is a convicted sex offender, according to the Illinois State Police Sex Offender Registry. He was convicted in Cook County.

Paz is expected to appear in court on October 10.
