He has led a sometimes controversial race and has never strayed far from the headlines, the biggest of which came earlier this summer when an attempt was made on his life.

Trump, himself a WWE Hall of Famer, was speaking at a rally in Pennsylvania in July when a gunman took aim and hit the former president in the ear as he escaped with his life by inches.

The footage of Trump standing tall after the assassination attempt made headlines worldwide for days, so it was naturally a topic of discussion when Trump was a guest on Six Feet Under, the podcast of WWE legend The Undertaker.

The pair discussed a number of topics and got into that chaotic scene when Trump talked about what he said was wrestling great Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s reaction to the incident.

Undertaker had nominated Johnson as WWE’s most prominent social media star when Trump quickly shifted the subject to the shooting, claiming the wrestler-turned-movie sensation demanded the New Yorker’s phone number from UFC chief Dana White.

“You know, he was great,” Trump said. “I never thought he liked me, and I felt bad because I think he’s a great guy.”

“Then Dana White said, when I got shot, I got shot in the ear, maybe you’ve heard of it.

“Rock called Dana and said, ‘I want his number… what he did is unbelievable.’

“He looked at it as bravery, I don’t know, for me I looked at it that way (and thought) ‘what’s going on here?’

“But it was actually a lot of fun, The Rock, so you could say I said that – are you speaking to him at all? He’s doing great.”

Trump stopped short of revealing whether or not Rock’s statement to White was the extent of his opinion, or whether the Moana star had contacted him directly.

Undertaker went on to press the 45th US President on why he continued campaigning given the lifestyle he could otherwise enjoy, allowing Trump to elaborate on the huge crowds his campaigns drew – similar to his boast that his appearance at WrestleMania 23 in 2007 earned the company. his pay-per-view record.

He continued: “Trust me, I joke with the crowd sometimes because we get really big crowds, we had 107,000 people in Butler, that’s where the accident happened; When we went back a few months later, we had 55,000.”

“No other politician had this hustle, I don’t even know what it is exactly, I can’t explain it.

“I sometimes say, ‘I don’t need to be here with you, I could be in Monte Carlo on the beaches, I could have it all, I don’t need this, but I would rather be with you in Butler, Pennsylvania .'”

Trump, by proxy, fought former WWE boss Vince McMahon during his WrestleMania appearance, with Bobby Lashley defeating Umaga and, as a result, leaving McMahon with his head shaved in the ring.

Earlier in his business career, Trump’s hotel and casino facility hosted the fourth and fifth WrestleManias in the late 1980s.
