GREEN BAY, Wis. (WEAU) – Eau Claire Regis came up short in its quest for the WIAA Division 4 volleyball title in a 5-set championship match against Manitowoc Lutheran.

The Ramblers and Lancers went all the way in the first set with Manitowoc Lutheran prevailing 29-27. Regis would then post wins of 25-20 and 25-23 to take a 2-1 lead in the match.

The Lancers rallied to win 25-22 in the fourth set to send the match to a fifth and decisive set.

Manitowoc Lutheran took a commanding lead early in the fifth, but the Ramblers rallied once again to cut the game to 2 points. Manitowoc Lutheran proved to be too much, winning 15-12 and taking home the gold ball.

Regis was led by junior hitter Sydney Marx, who had 22 kills, and junior middle blocker Lily Lewis, who had 11 kills and 5 blocks. Junior point guard Izzy Reichert helped lead the attack with 36 assists.
