Five injured in ‘pattern’ of stabbings at Seattle CID over 24 hours

UPDATE – Five more people were stabbed in Seattle’s Chinatown International District on Friday afternoon.. Seattle Police Department Chief Eric Barden said a suspect has been located.near the scene and detained without incident. After the incident on Friday afternoon, a total of 10 people were stabbed in the CID neighborhood in 37 hours.

SEATTLE – Five people were stabbed within a close radius in Seattle’s Chinatown International District over the course of about 24 hours.

While the Seattle Police Department has not said whether all the cases are connected, investigators indicated the stabbings followed a “pattern.”

Below is a list of each stabbing incident that occurred between early Thursday morning and early Friday morning, according to SPD:

Stabbing 1: 12th Avenue South and South King Street

Around 1:30 a.m. Thursday, a 52-year-old woman He was rushed to Harborview Medical Center in serious condition. after she was stabbed eight times.

The department said responding officers found a trail of blood and a possible crime scene east of 8th Avenue South and South King Street.

Police said the circumstances leading up to the stabbing are under investigation.

Stabbing 2: Eighth Avenue South and Jackson Street South

At 12:19 Thursday, police said a man in his 40s He was stabbed multiple times and also taken to Harborview in serious condition.

According to SPD, the victim was stabbed seven times, including three wounds in the chest and four in the back.

Stabbing 3:Eighth Avenue Southand south jackson street

At 8:09 p.m. Thursday, a male victim was stabbed multiple times in the chest, back and hands. He was taken to Harborview Medical Center in serious condition.

Officers began searching for a suspect in connection with the third stabbing. The suspect was described as a 40-year-old black man, approximately six feet tall, 200 pounds and wearing a padded jacket with green pants.

Police found and detained a suspect, but witnesses told officers they were not sure if it was the right suspect. The man arrested, however, had a felony warrant and SPD said he was booked into the King County Jail on that warrant.

Stabbing 4:Eighth Avenue Southand South King Street

At 10:39 p.m. Thursday, police responded to another stabbing on King Street, under the I-5 overpass. The victim told police that a man approached his car, forced open the door and tried to stab him in the chest.

SPD said the victim was able to block the knife and fight the suspect, but suffered a cut to his hand. Police responded with a helicopter and K9 units, but were unable to find the suspect.

The victim was transported to Harborview Medical Center for treatment.

Stabbing 5: 12th Ave South and South Jackson Street

At 1 a.m. Friday, police responded to an assault call and found a victim bleeding from the neck.

Police said the victim was so seriously injured that they could not speak to an officer. Police found a trail of blood on a door and again attempted to use a police dog to track the suspect, but no one was arrested.

Police said detectives are working to learn if the stabbings are related.
