A King’s College staff member has resigned after police were alerted over allegations of inappropriate behaviour

The employee, who has resigned, also claimed his online activities did not involve any King’s College students, Lamb and Wilson said.

“The council takes these types of matters very seriously; as a priority, we need to understand if any of our students have any concerns they would like to raise with us in response to this information, and we will ensure they receive the necessary support,” their statement said.

“We therefore wanted to contact you as soon as possible to inform you about the steps we are taking and to ask for your help in talking to your child.”

The statement said police had been notified today and pastoral care services were available for any student needing support.

The school also said that they would be talking to students in School House this evening and that they would be talking to the whole college at the chapel service tomorrow morning.

A list of contact details for a pastoral worker, school counselor and chaplain was also provided to parents.

“We would appreciate it if you could take the opportunity tonight to talk to your child about any concerns they may have in light of this information,” Lamb and Wilson said.

Police were unable to comment this evening or confirm that a complaint had been made. Lamb has been contacted for further comment but has not yet responded.
