Boy found alone on Delhi Township Street

DELHI TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WXIX) – Do you know this child and his family?

Delhi Township police turned to the public overnight as they searched for a parent or guardian of the red-haired boy in the photo. They estimate he is about 8 years old.

A passing motorist called 911 after seeing him wandering alone without a shirt and shoes on the street near Pedretti Road and Fehr Road just before midnight on Sunday, Delhi Police Chief Michael Gerde said.

He was wearing only dark blue swimming trunks and carrying a child’s duvet with a cartoon on it, he said.

“We think he snuck out of the house while the parents were sleeping. He is non-verbal. We’ve tried all our options. We even checked the area to see if any doors were wide open, but we didn’t find anything, so we’re really at a dead end,” said Corporal Gerde.

Police turned the boy over to child care workers at Hamilton County Job & Family Services.

Anyone who knows him or his family is urged to contact Delhi Township Police at 513-922-0060.
