76ers fans reach strong conclusion about key player after Lakers loss

Another game, another loss for the Philadelphia 76ers. This time, they came up short against the Los Angeles Lakers on the road.

On Friday night, the Sixers wrapped up a tough three-game road trip through the West. They return home without winning.

Monday’s game, in which Paul George participated for the first time this season, resulted in a close loss. Wednesday’s game, Paul George’s return to Los Angeles to face the Clippers, ended with the Sixers losing and another key player being injured.

Tyrese Maxey was seen clutching his hamstring in the second half against the Clippers. Turns out the veteran guard is dealing with some tension. He was ruled out for at least a week. Therefore, Maxey was not on the court for the matchup against the Lakers on Friday.

Kyle Lowry started in place of the former All-Star, but the absence offered rookie Jared McCain a chance to see some extended minutes off the bench. While there wasn’t much to celebrate on Friday as the Sixers were controlled by the Lakers for most of the game, McCain has plenty of support moving forward.

@HarrisMooreMM: Can’t wait to see McCain and Yabu with Embiid

@TeemoStreams: McCain is going to be a stud! Yabusele at 4 will also be incredible.

@Sixerdaily: There is absolutely no reasoning for Jared McCain not being in the rotation for the foreseeable future.

@RBPhillyTake: Jared McCain should start 100% next game over Kyle Lowry. There is no doubt in my mind

@Liberty_Ballers: If Jared McCain doesn’t stay in the rotation, we will riot

@PresidentEmbiid: Jared McCain may be a rookie, but I probably trust him more than anyone else on the team aside from 2 or 3 guys right now.

McCain was present for 26 minutes Friday night. He made 13 field goals, seven of them from deep. McCain made four of his seven shots from deep. By adding two points from the charity stripe, he finished the game with 16 points. McCain set the Sixers team record for scoring on Friday.

The Oct. 27 outing against the Indiana Pacers was the first time McCain went more than three minutes. In that game he accumulated 17 minutes of action. Since then, McCain played at least 12 minutes in all but one of the next four games.

Since the matchup with the Pacers, McCain has averaged nine points on 44 percent shooting from the field. He also had two rebounds and two assists. It’s unclear if McCain will maintain a role in Nick Nurse’s rotation as the Sixers bring back some key reinforcements, but he is gaining more support as the season progresses.
