A vehicle fire on I-41 on Friday night, November 8, 2024, stopped traffic for about 15 minutes while firefighters extinguished the fire.

At approximately 9:15 p.m., passersby began receiving calls about a vehicle fire on the northbound shoulder of I-41, just south of County Highway F. The Brownsville Fire Department was called to the scene to put out the fire, but the wind was blowing. Smoke crossed the northbound lanes so it was decided to close the highway until the fire was extinguished and the smoke cleared.

No injuries were reported in the fire.
