McAlester woman convicted of sexual exploitation of a child

MCALESTER, Okla. (KXII) – A McAlester woman was sentenced to federal prison after pleading guilty to sexual exploitation of a child.

According to the U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, Amanda Howerton, 41, took a photo of a child being sexually abused and sold it online in January 2023.

Howerton was charged with sexual exploitation of a child and pleaded guilty to the charge in February 2024.

She was sentenced to 17.5 years in prison and is not eligible for parole.
