Matthew White was diagnosed with a brain tumor after suffering several seizures

A Sussex man with a terminal brain tumor is making a film about his treatment.

Matthew White, from Brighton, was diagnosed after suffering a series of seizures.

The 40-year-old is currently undergoing treatment and also hopes to spend as much time as possible with his wife and two young children.

He is working with the charity Stand Up To Cancer and Channel 4 to help raise awareness and fund new treatments.

Describing the moment he received his diagnosis, Mr White said: “I remember asking them, ‘You can take this out, right?’ And they just said, ‘no, we can’t, not everything.’

“And I said, ‘You’ll cure the rest, right?’ And they just said, ‘no, we can’t.'”

Matthew White says he wants to raise awareness about brain tumor research

White said he chose to make the film to highlight how much research needs to be done to find effective treatments.

He said: “Twelve thousand people are diagnosed with brain tumors every year in the UK, and today there are 34 people who will hear those words: ‘you have a brain tumour’.

“This is for them, as much as it is for me, because the moment we stop talking about it is the moment we all give up.

“We need people to hear what this is like because tomorrow it could be you.”

After six weeks of radiotherapy, he is now receiving chemotherapy.
