Shura Council confirms leadership of key committees | THE DAILY STAND

The Shura Council confirmed the leadership of several of its key committees today during its regular session to unanimous approval.

The results saw the continuation of several incumbent directors in their leadership roles and the appointment of new chairmen for others.

Khalid Al Masqati will continue as head of the Council’s Finance Committee, and Dr. Mohammed Ali will continue to head the Public Utilities and Environment Commission. Dr. Jameela Al Salman has been elected as the new head of the Services Committee, replacing Dr. Ibtisam Al Dalal.

In addition, Dr. Mohammed Al Khuzaei will continue to lead the Human Rights Commission, and finally, Redha Monfaradi will retain his position as head of the Youth Affairs Commission.

The uncontested elections represent a continuation of established leadership within the Shura Council, ensuring stability as the Council embarks on its legislative agenda for the new term.

Stake

After the elections, the Shura Council office reaffirmed in a statement its commitment to developing the legislative process, working closely with the executive to achieve national goals.

“This commitment reflects the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, who has emphasized the importance of strengthening legislative work and democratic practices to accelerate development.”

Furthermore, the Cabinet expressed its pride in His Majesty the King’s words of confidence and appreciation for the legislature during the opening of the third session of the sixth legislature. They pledged continued efforts to enact and develop legislation that embodies the values ​​of unity and justice, and to maintain the momentum of comprehensive development.

Mr Al Saleh congratulated the newly elected heads of Shura Council committees and urged them to continue their efforts in discussing and revising legislation, and to submit legislative initiatives that will support Bahrain’s democratic and legislative progress would strengthen.

Meanwhile, the Shura Council office reviewed a list of bills and reports ready for discussion, as well as topics still pending in the council’s committees. The meeting also discussed the agenda for the third session of the council, including the topics that would be discussed.
