Pokémon Unite’s China launch has a feature the world desperately needs

Pokémon Unite fans were stunned because the new China-exclusive version is already well ahead of the global release.

While Pokémon Unite was originally released in 2021, the free game just arrived in China. The popular MOBA game features the same team-based gameplay and colorful creatures as the global version, but comes with a major addition that fans have wanted since its release.

Posting on X, a user shared gameplay clips of a social hub area that is exclusive to the Chinese version of the game. This location serves as a space where players can interact with each other before matches, unleash their Pokémon, and even do Fortnite-style emotes.

If that wasn’t enough, there are even mini-games that Trainers can play between matches. youtuber crisheroes discovered that players can participate in a variety of arcade-style mini-games, ranging from basketball to archery.

There even seem to be daily quests tailored to the social hub area, further encouraging community interaction outside of battles. However, it doesn’t stop there, as one of the best features is the ability for your chosen Pokémon to follow you everywhere, just like the main titles.

Players can even customize their own trainer cards, using a variety of Pokémon, cute poses, and even team up with other Trainers for group photos. These quality of life improvements quickly caught the attention of the global community, with many asking the developers to add these changes.

“I hope they add this to global because it’s awesome,” one player wrote. “It may seem silly to say, but having in-game lobbies for players to interact with each other between matches will definitely help boost players,” another responded.

It remains uncertain whether the developers will add a social hub to the global version of Pokémon Unite, but for now, the Chinese launch is well ahead.
