Israeli and Dutch leaders condemn anti-Semitic attacks on Israelis in Amsterdamposted at 08:34 Greenwich Mean Time

Dutch and Israeli officials condemned a series of attacks on Israeli soccer fans in Amsterdam overnight.

Maccabi Tel Aviv fans were attacked in the capital while their team was in the city for their Europa League match against Ajax.

Amsterdam police have arrested at least 57 people.

Images circulating on social media show a series of violent attacks against Israelis in the street, as well as people breaking into hotels apparently looking for Maccabi fans.

There was already trouble before the match between Maccabi fans and pro-Palestinian protesters, with reports of supporters setting off fireworks and knocking down a Palestinian flag on a nearby street.

Dutch Prime Minister Dick Schoof condemned the “anti-Semitic attacks”, while Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said two “rescue planes” would be sent to Amsterdam to pick up affected fans.

Here we will give you more information about the consequences of the attacks, so stay with us.
