Kettering Town’s Latimer Road ground will be full again when they play Doncaster Rovers in the FA Cup

A non-league football club is giving its volunteers extra time to help prepare its pitch for a historic FA Cup tie.

Kettering Town have added another ‘volunteering day’, where fans help spruce up the stadium, ahead of their second round match against Doncaster Rovers.

The Poppies, who play in the seventh division of English football, beat League One neighbors Northampton Town to reach the second round for the first time since 2010.

The club had planned two days of volunteering this month to prepare the Latimer Park ground for upcoming matches. Now a third has been scheduled.

In a statement on social media, the club said: “Due to the exceptional response to our announced volunteer days on 14 November and 28 November 2024, we will be adding an additional day on Sunday 17 November.”

Volunteers will paint, maintain the grounds, and generally tidy up and renovate.

Kettering Town will face Doncaster Rovers in the FA Cup on November 30.
