HR told me my dresses were not appropriate for the workplace

HR told me my dresses were not appropriate for the workplace

The conversation continued and Paula revealed some comments HR had received about her work attire, including that she was “begging for attention”.

This was a surprise to the woman, who was visibly shaken. At the end of the meeting, Paula asked the employee if she was “going to do something different.”

“Sure, I think I’ll go shopping this weekend,” she replied, adding, “Thanks so much for your time, I guess.”

But even though she didn’t believe it, the majority of TikTok comments sided with HR.

“I was so ready to be on your side and then you stepped back off camera,” one person wrote.

“Honey, I’ll hold your hand when I say this. That’s a club dress,” wrote another.

“I wanna be a girly girl but honey I have that exact dress and I wear it to the bars,” a third wrote, going on to say that she went to the club in a similar outfit in the 2000s.

However, others pointed out HR’s inappropriate comments.

“I think the comments about you begging for attention were completely out of line, but at the same time, neither of these are appropriate for an office,” one person reasoned.

“I have to admit…I’m a little disappointed by the responses,” said a second.

“Wow! These comments. It’s not her fault people are distracted,” wrote a third.

It comes two months after a photo of a work dress worn by Lindsey Amore went viral on X (formerly Twitter).
