Two brothers shot during domestic dispute in NE Harris County where suspect turned gun on himself, HCSO says

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) — The Harris County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an apparent double murder-suicide in northwest Harris County in which three people, including two brothers, were shot and killed during what officials are calling a domestic dispute between neighbors Thursday evening.

Officials said it started around 11 p.m. in the 11700 block of S. Spicewood Lane, when a woman and her boyfriend had an argument.

HCSO said during the altercation, the woman took her two children to the house next door where three brothers lived for safety reasons. Police said they were unclear how well the men knew the woman, but were told the woman felt safe enough to go there for help.

The woman’s boyfriend then came over, where he was confronted by the three brothers outside. According to police, the friend then allegedly pulled a gun and fatally struck two of them.

HCSO said one of the three brothers also pulled out a gun and fired back at the suspect, who ran back to the home he shared with the woman.

HCSO said that shortly afterward, the woman’s boyfriend turned the gun on himself when emergency responders arrived. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators said the two brothers who were killed were between the ages of 30 and 50.

While looking at the scene, officers said this wasn’t the first time law enforcement officers have been called to this home. Officials said just a few days earlier that there was domestic violence between the woman and the boyfriend, but details about the incident were limited.

No names of the victims have been released, and officials said the surviving brother, woman and her two children are OK and cooperating with law enforcement.
