Marion County man arrested for touching himself in front of children

OCALA, Fla. (WCJB) – Marion County Sheriff’s Office deputies have arrested a man after a victim reported he exposed himself to her as she and other students walked home from the bus stop.

After interviews with victims and neighbors, officers arrested Glenn Lee Sanders, 69, of Indianapolis, Thursday afternoon for committing a crime in the presence of a victim under the age of 16 at his residence in Maricamp, near Forest High School.

The arrest affidavit states that the 14-year-old victim told her parents that when she got off the bus Tuesday afternoon, she walked past Sanders’ house and saw him standing next to his car in his garage, naked from the waist down.

The victim said Sanders was wearing only a white shirt and moving his hand up and down his genitals as he watched the children walking past his house from the bus stop.

The victim said Sanders did not speak to her and was alone in the garage. When they made eye contact, Sanders quickly stood behind his vehicle while still moving his arms, according to the arrest affidavit.

The victim explained to authorities that she has seen Sanders in his garage since approximately August 2023, wearing only a shirt and underwear, while watching her and other students walk home several times.

Several of Sanders’ neighbors noted in interviews with police that he has previously exhibited strange behavior in the neighborhood, such as approaching women while they are alone outside their home and asking them for large sums of money or groceries.

Authorities questioned Sanders about the incident and according to the victims, he denied masturbating in the garage. He said the victims had lied, but could not explain why. He confirmed that he regularly leaves his garage door open.

Sanders was arrested on two charges and taken to the Marion County Jail.

MCSO detectives believe there may be additional victims who experienced similar behavior from Landers. Authorities urge anyone who may have seen Landers engaging in lewd and lascivious behavior or who has additional information to contact Detective Caitlin Hartigan at 352-368-3535.
