BAGLEY, Minnesota (KVLY/Gray News) – Five young children are in critical condition after being injured in an explosion at their Minnesota home.

The Bagley community is coming together to support the five siblings, who range in age from 6 to 14.

TO GoFundMe created to help pay for their medical expenses, raising nearly $34,000 as of Tuesday.

A family member who started the fundraiser said the children were in critical condition and were flown to a burn unit in Hennepin County.

He said the children are stable. However, burns range from 5% to 55% of your body. A surgeon informed the family that all of the children will need surgery at some point in their recovery.

The Clearwater County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of an explosion and fire at a storage unit north of Bagley around 12:30 p.m. Monday.

Investigators determined that a propane tank had leaked inside the metal storage unit and the explosion occurred after a man lit a cigarette.

First responders said the man was also injured, but did not provide further information about his condition.

The Minnesota State Fire Marshal’s Office was called to the scene to investigate.
